Published!

We love nothing more than opening a printed publication and seeing the work of our members jumping from its pages.  The work of BrisStyle member, Cheryl, from Stoned Cherry and Afrikitten is featured in the latest issue of Australian Beading Magazine.  Congratulations!

Cheryl's soutache earrings were featured on the front cover of
Australian Beading Magazine!
Earlier in the year Cheryl was approached by the editor of Australian Beading Magazine requesting she write a project for an upcoming issue after seeing her designs on Facebook (the power of Facebook never ceases to amaze us!). After some discussion it was decided that Cheryl would write two projects, one to represent Stoned Cherry which sells soutache jewellery and one to represent Afrikitten which sells beaded rings.

After what has seemed like a very long wait, the June issue of Australian Beading Magazine has hit the shelves.  If you would like to learn how to make a beautiful pair of soutache earrings in peacock green and blue or a beadwoven ring be sure to pick up a copy of Australian Beading Magazine Vol.6, No.3.

The Peacock Soutache Earring tutorial!

The Seaglass Beadwoven Ring tutorial!
To Cheryl's credit it is the first time that a soutache project has been featured in the magazine - the technique of soutache is quite popular in Europe but is a fairly new technique to Australia, hence the reason it is featured on the cover.  After a very successful collaboration Cheryl has been asked to be a regular contributor to the magazine so look out for a very colourful beadwoven ring tutorial come mid-October.

If you would like to see more of Cheryl's work be sure to visit her online.....
